CARAGA– Barangay officials and parent leaders of the recipient municipalities of the KALAHI CIDSS-National Community-Driven Development Program (KC-NCDDP) are being convened for orientation and consultation in their respective towns this month.
Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga said that series of municipal orientations cum consultation meetings were facilitated by the Area Coordinating Teams (ACTs) of the said program, in partnership with the municipal local government units (MLGUs).
“These activities are participated by the officials and department heads of MLGUs, punong barangays, and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program parent leaders,” stated Brigoli.
The conduct of a municipal orientation is part of the social preparation stage of the Accelerated Community Empowerment Activity Cycle (CEAC) process incorporated by the KC-NCDDP.
In this activity, the attendees are oriented about the program and its underlying requirements for implementation.
KC-NCDDP is one of the core poverty-alleviation programs of the DSWD. It scales-up the community-driven development strategy, which emphasizes the participatory, transparency, and accountability principles. The program provides opportunities to poor communities to make informed decisions on locally identified options for development and manage resources to implement sub-projects that address needs identified by communities themselves. ###(Social Marketing Unit/DSWD Field Caraga)
