BUTUAN CITY – The National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTSPR) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) conducts special validation to the areas affected by tropical storm Pablo. The special validation is now on going in Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur.
The municipalities covered are Veruela, Sta. Josefa, Bunawan and Trento in Agusan del Sur and Bislig City and municipalities of Hinatuan and Lingig in Surigao del Sur.
The special validation is designed to determine the present condition of the National Household Targeting Office (NHTO) identified poor and non-poor households; to know the poverty status of the households not yet assessed by NHTO but were affected by Pablo, and to generate a pool of potential beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilya.
Earlier, the DSWD Caraga oriented on February 25-27 the 213 newly hired area coordinators, area supervisors and enumerators for the special validation.
Ms. Nerisa T. Murih, Assistant Regional Director for administration and Concurrent Chief of the Policy and Plans Division together with her team, led the conduct of this special validation.
