Butuan City- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Caraga launched on March 30, 2015 at the Department’s regional office here a product catalogue which showcases the different livelihood products of the program participants of Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli said that this catalogue contains and presents the products which are the fruit of the program participants’ extensive trainings, hard labor, cooperation, and determination to uplift their socio-economic status.

“In this material, you will discover the participants’ creativity and craftmanship, harmonized with the latest trends in the market, and with the support or technical assistance of various partners and stakeholders,” Brigoli added.

The launching took place during the opening program of the Korambusan 2015, the annual women’s month celebration of the Department in the region.

“Majority of our program participants are women that is why we really scheduled the launch of this material in time with the women’s month to celebrate their humble yet meaningful successes,” disclosed Roy R. Serdeña, SLP regional coordinator.

SLP is a community-based capacity building program that seeks to improve the program participants’ socio-economic status. It is implemented through the Community-Driven Enterprise Development (CDED) approach, which equips participants to actively contribute to production and labor markets by looking at available resources and accessible markets.###(Social Marketing Unit/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
