Butuan City-The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga hosts another milestone activity termed as Pantawid Pamilya Green Day 2015. A total of 1000 partner-beneficiaries within Butuan City bade to participate in the said event on April 17 at 4:00 AM at Barangay Bonbon Covered Court.
“This activity is our simple contribution in minimizing the proliferation of climate change. Involving our Pantawid Pamilya partner-beneficiaries to this event give them the authority to own a responsibility to nurture and protect what they have planted,” Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli, CESO III said.
The Green day activity is in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Caraga and the Local Government Unit (CLGU) of Butuan City through the Barangay Affairs Office and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
“Today is the best time to plant. We plant, we nurture and we protect,” Brigoli added.
Other than the Pantawid Pamilya partner-beneficiaries, personnel from DSWD Caraga, DENR Caraga, and CLGU of Butuan personnel also commit themselves to join the event.
Pantawid Pamilya is a human development program that invests in the health and education of poor households primarily those with children aged 0-18. It provides cash grants to partner-beneficiaries who comply with the conditions of sending theor children to school, bringing them to heath centersn for check-ups, and attending the Family Development Session (FDS) (###DSWDFOCaraga###).
