Butuan City – Selected staff of the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Caraga personally visited on April 6, 2016 some of the National Government Agencies (NGAs) in the region to lobby the utilization of the latest database of the Poor families.
The following were the agencies visited: Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Education (DepEd), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP).
Regional Field Coordinator Aldie May Andoy and Regional Information Technology Officer Raffy Pocon discussed the advantages of using the updated database especially those organizations and agencies whose goal is to alleviate poverty in the country by delivering pro-poor programs and services.
The updated Listahanan database is a package of complete details that answer who and where the poor household are in the region.
Furthermore, Andoy emphasized that there are guidelines to be followed in order to have a systematic way of sharing the data to the users to avoid misuse.
“To promote data usage of Listahanan’s database, Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is requisite for a stakeholder who is interested to partner with the agency. Through signing the MOA, two parties agreed its conditionality and restrictions prior the data sharing. With this, the database which includes the list of poor households will be available and become the basis for any social protection programs,” explained Andoy.
Recently, the national launching of 2015 database was successfully conducted last April 5, 2016 that was attended by all regional directors of the agency and Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman.
The regional launching of the said database is scheduled this coming June 23, 2016.
