BUTUAN CITY – Some 3407 households in Socorro and Pilar will benefit the recently inaugurated sub-projects of LGU-led poverty alleviation program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) called Makamasang Tugon.
Ranging from public goods to environmental protection and conservation to economic development enterprise sub-projects will now be enjoyed by beneficiaries in time for the school opening and the rainy season.
A total of Php15,605,595.00 Makamasang Tugon fund given to respective LGUs raised school buildings, day care centers, health stations, farm-to-market roads, seawalls, a wharf, and installed water systems and solar driers in less than a year.
Makamasang Tugon is a performance-based incentive grant and an implementation modality under the KALAHI-CIDSS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services) Project.
It is expected that the LGUs have now integrated the Community-Driven Development (CDD) principles into the local planning processes and investment programming of their municipality. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
