BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga region has recently re-organized its Quick Response Team (QRT) and has conducted capability building to its members at a hotel here.
DSWD Caraga director Mercedita P. Jabagat said the activity was conducted in two batches and basically done in order to make the members refreshed of their respective roles and functions for future undertaking relative to disaster management.
Jabagat said the training has provided the QRT members the opportunity to enhance their competencies on understanding of disaster risk reduction and management, appreciation of disaster response and their contribution to said committee, management of evacuation camps and community kitchen, knowing the process of disaster relief operations and reporting, identifying the psychosocial process, and understanding the roles and functions of the other committees of the QRT.
The resource persons from DSWD Caraga were Ana T. Semacio, head of Crisis Intervention and Disaster Management; Glezza T. Ty, IDU Head; Ramel F. Jamen, Supply Officer; Leah T. Quintana, head of Social Marketing Unit; Nerisa T. Murih, chief of Policy and Programs Division; Angelita B. Amista, chief of Institutional Development Division; Ramil M. Taculod, Management Audit Analyst; Eval B. Makinano, Social Welfare Assistant.
