BUTUAN CITY -The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) launched a Jingle Making Contest to intensify the department’s information campaign on Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
With this contest, DSWD aims to produce an official 4Ps jingle to help promote the goals and objectives of the program through the use of music with the theme “Kayang-kaya ng Pinoy Tumawid Tungo sa Kaunlaran,” stressing the importance of health and education in fighting poverty in the country.
The contest is open to all residents of the region implementing 4Ps including the non-beneficiaries. In Caraga Region, deadline of submission of entries is on July 30, 2010. The regional winning entry will be submitted to the National Project Management Office (NPMO) for the national competition. The national champion, up to the 3rd prize will be invited to perform in the DSWD 60th anniversary.
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program is one of the government’s flagship programs on poverty reduction. It provide cash grants to extremely poor household in order to improve their health, nutrition and education specifically the 0-14 years old children. The program also aims to provide social development to break the inter-generational cycle of poverty through investment I n human capital. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
