BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga Region Field Office actively participated in the recently held Capacity Development Exposition (CDEX) 2010 sponsored by the regional office of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) with the support of LGA and AECID.

DSWD Caraga Director Mercedita P. Jabagat said “DSWD participated in CDEX because it has provided a venue for us to share our programs and services to other national government agencies, local resource institutes, donors, leagues of local governments, civil society organizations, local government units and other capacity development partners.”

In the Exhibit/Display of Products, DSWD Caraga mounted a photo exhibit showcasing its initiatives along capacity building programs such as Enhanced Family and Community Disaster Preparedness, Effective and Efficient Supervision and Management and Protective Services.

Meanwhile, DSWD Caraga distributed brochures and IEC materials on 4Ps, KALAHI-CIDSS, PODER, NHTS-PR, and SEA-K.  Other information materials given out during the CDEX were about Travel Clearance for Minors, Adoption, Foster Care, and Home for Girls (HFG) and Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY).

A video presentation on the successful implementation of KALAHI-CIDSS was also shown to the participants at the CDEX. # # # (Social Marketing Unit)
