Dapa, Surigao del Norte – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dapa launched the 4Ps Radio Program-“Tingog sa Kalambuan” on August 11, 2010 in Dapa, Surigao del Norte, in time of the weeklong celebration of Araw Nang Dapa.

DSWD Regional Director Mercedita P. Jabagat and Dapa Mayor Peter “Boy” Ruaya were the primary guests of the maiden broadcast of the program. Mayor Ruaya emphasized to the public that during the survey, LGU has nothing to do in the selection of 4Ps beneficiaries, while Dir. Jabagat stressed out that the program is not a dole-out project, given that the program provides conditions that the beneficiaries need to comply. Ms. Leah T. Quintana, DSWD Regional Information Officer anchored the launching of the radio program.

The radio program “Tingog sa Kalambuan” was done in order to intensify the information campaign of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P), it also aims to address issues and concerns of 4Ps. The radio program will also serve as the venue for the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) to inform the public of the activities, services and programs of the Local Government Unit.

The first episode of the radio program talks about the program overview  where the descriptions, objectives, conditions and grant package was discussed, with guests DSWD Dir. Jabagat and Nayor Ruaya. The second episode of the program tackled on the Institutional Arrangement of 4Ps with guest, Ms. Shalom Dapar, Social Welfare Officer III (SWO III) and the third episode with guest Ms. Neda Barrios, 4Ps Focal Person of Surigao del Norte talks about the 4Ps Implementing Procedures.

“Tingog sa Kalambuan” will run for 6 weeks starting August 11-Sept15, 2010 every Wednesday, 10:00AM-11:00AM, over Choice FM and will be heard throughout the Dapa and some neighboring barangays of the municipality of Del Carmen and Gen. Luna. # # # (Social Marketing Unit)
