BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Caraga region trains trainers on family and community disaster preparedness (FCDP) on July 13-14, 2011 at Goat2geder Hotel and Restaurant, Butuan City.
The field office sees the importance of disaster preparedness training to effectively lessen the impact of disasters to the community residents.
According to Director Mercedita P. Jabagat being prepared is a call for everyone not only in the aspect of disaster management but in all aspects of human lives.
The 36 participants include staff from Convergence Strategy, Pantawid Pamilya, Crisis Intervention Unit, Field Office, LGUs.
The field office used the family and community disaster preparedness training manual. The sessions include the following: 1) The Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System 2) Understanding Disaster Management 3) The Disaster Continuum and Phases 4) Vulnerability and Capacity assessment 5) The Family and Community Disaster Preparedness 6) Facilitation Skills 7) Return Demonstration 8) Roll-out Planning. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
