Butuan City – As part of its scale-up implementation this year, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga welcomed new staffs of community-driven development (CDD) projects in the region through an orientation last Jan. 13 at Almont Hotel’s Inland Resort.

The participants – news staffs together with the renewed and returning staffs alike – were oriented about administrative concerns conducted by the Human Resource Management Unit (HRMU) and project policies and guidelines given by the Regional Project Management Office (RPMO).

With the 8-year successful implementation of the World Bank-funded flagship anti-poverty project of the government called KALAHI-CIDSS, other funding agencies also showed interest in funding other CDD projects.

DSWD Caraga is currently implementing four (4) CDD projects, namely: KALAHI-CIDSS, Makamasang Tugon (LGU-led), Poder 7 (Spanish aid), and PAMANA or Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Office of the President).

KALAHI-CIDSS Caraga is now becoming a bigger family with a staff comprising of 115 field staff workers and 30 office-based staff totaling to 145.

Deployment of these staff to 28 municipalities in the region is scheduled to commence on the third week of this month. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
