pdos rdBUTUAN CITY – Cognizant that workers must be equipped with the basic knowledge, skill and attitude on the program before deployment to their respective areas of assignment, DSWD Caraga recently oriented the 42 new project development officers (PDOs) of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

The new workers had also been oriented on the vision, mission, values, functions, programs and services, different policies and rules of the Department that the workers need to adhere to as well as the details of the SLP.

 

RD Mercedita P. Jabagat said that the orientation is part of the strategic measures of the Field Office to ensure quality program implementation.

 

Jabagat also said that the goal of the activity is to develop the basic competencies of newly-hired workers in the efficient and effective implementation of Sustainable Livelihood Program in Caraga region.

The sustainable livelihood program is part of DSWD’s Convergence Program for Poverty Reduction. It provides entrepreneurial capacity building for all Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries.  The program offers two tracks of assistance namely: Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran (SEA-K) and Guaranteed Employment.  The SLP is a bridge program for Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries, which aims to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the extremely poor households of the society. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
