DEADLINE: JULY 16, 2012, 12nn

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is currently accepting project proposals for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) – funded DSWD-CSO Pilot Engagement in Family Development Sessions (FDS) and FDS Plus which is targeted to be implemented from July 23, 2012 to August 23, 2012 in Regions NCR, I and CARAGA. The Deadline for submission is on Monday, the 16th of July 2012, 12nn at the concerned DSWD Field Office.

The national government through the DSWD is implementing the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, commonly known as the Conditional Cash Transfer program. Pantawid Pamilya is a human development program that invests in the health and education of poor households particularly of children aged 0-14 years old.  Cash grants are given to households who will comply with the conditionalities of the program, among which is the attendance to Family Development Sessions (FDS). The FDS serves as a venue where topics on effective parenting, husband and wife relationships, child development, laws affecting the Filipino family, gender and development and home management are being discussed. Through the FDS parents are also informed of their rights as individuals as well as their obligations that they need to fulfill not only as husband and wife but also as parents. While the FDS enables the households become socially aware, be involved and participate in community development activities, the FDS Plus was also conceptualized to include a range of initiatives complementary to that of the FDS but was not included as conditions of the program.

The invitation is open to all CSOs who are actively involved in community development work/sessions in Regions NCR, I and CARAGA. Related documents (application forms, terms of reference, eligibility requirements, and other templates) essential for the preparation and submission of project proposals are available at the Pantawid Pamilya – National Project Management Office.
