Butuan City – As the lead agency in the Regional Inter-Agency Committee for Filipino Families (RIAC-FF), the Social Welfare Department led the conduct of  the Search for Talentadong Pamilyang Pinoy 2012 on September 24, 2012 at Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center, Butuan City.

A motorcade within the city opened the activity which was participated in by 21 different national and local government agencies.

Six national government agencies participated in the Search for Talentadong Pamilyang Pinoy 2012. The 3^rd place went to Bacalso family of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) with P500.00 worth of grocery items sponsored by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and a TESDA scholarship; 2^nd place was given to Basol family of the Department of Education (DepEd) Agusan del Norte Division Office with P1,000.00 worth of grocery items sponsored by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and a scholarship from TESDA; Robles family of DepEd SPED Buenavista  was hailed 2012 Talentadong Pamilyang Pinoy, they received P1,000.00 cash prize from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), one sack of rice from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and a scholarship from the  (TESDA).

The Population Commission (PopCom) also facilitated the conduct of several games intended for adults and children.

“This activities aim to strengthen the family unity and relationships through meaningful and promotion of Filipino family values,” Aldoe Mae Andoy, RIAC-FF focal person said. ### ((social Marketing Unit)
