The Department of Social Welfare and Development conducted a series of Academe Orientation on Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur and San Francisco, Agusan del Sur on November 9 and 16, 2012, respectively.

The Department recognized the academes as partners in development work, thus the Department deemed it necessary to orient and provide information to the academes especially the faculties and students as partners.

Each academe orientation was attended by 50 participants. The activity also became a venue for the students and faculties to raise their issues and concerns which were addressed by the Pantawid Pamilya staff.

Other than Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, topics on Poverty situation was also discussed by Mr. Ramil Taculod, DSWD Management Audit Analyst and Mr. John Paul Perajes, Palnning Officer III; and DSWD’s Vision and Mission which was tackled by DSWD Regional Information Officer Ms. Leah T. Quintana.

Another series of academe orientations are set to be conducted in December 2012 in the provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
