BUTUAN CITY – Fifteen (15) Congressional staff of Butuan City underwent a three day “Skills Training on Sustainable Livelihood Programfor Counterpart PDOs” conducted by the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga field office.

The three-day activity was held at the District Constituency Office of Butuan City on August 5-7, 2013, in partnership with Hon. Lawrence Lemuel H. Fortun, Representative of the 1st District of Agusan del Norte (Butuan and Las Nieves.)

The objective of the training is to equip the participants with the knowledge and skills on Community Driven Enterprise Development Process (CDED) and Community Facilitation to be used as a tool in the implementation of SLP as it will be replicated and funded by Rep. Fortun for Butuan City and Las Nieves.
Rep. Fortun will be replicating Php 5M worth of livelihood projects through DSWD as Revolving and Settlement Fund (RSF) for the implementation of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Mr. Eldie N. David, Special Projects Coordinator of the District Constituency Office, emphasized during the closing program of the training that they appreciate the program because of the process it employs, which involves community participation. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
