In celebration of this year’s National Filipino Family Week celebration, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga held the Tagisan ng Galing 2013 for Pantawid Pamilya family beneficiaries.
Held at Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center, this city, the contest featured five family contestants who represented each province of Caraga region.
“The Search for Talentadong Pamilyang Pilipino 2013 aims to encourage beneficiaries of 4Ps in the region to come out from their shells and show off their talents. Let us all remember that the family is the basic unit of society, it is where the molding of character and educating of children begin. The values that we uphold in the family also contribute to the kind of society that we have,” said, Nerisa T. Murih, assistant regional director for admin of DSWD-Caraga.
The Enso family from Bunawan, Agusan del Sur received the first prize; Patalinghog family of Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, second prize; Bracho family of Province of Dinagat Islands, third prize; consolation prizes were given to Carbonilla family of Butuan City and Conde family of Siargao, Surigao del Norte.
The criteria for judging are as follows: Team Work – 40%; Stage Presence – 10%; Creativity – 20%; and Relevance to the theme – 30%, a total of 100%. The winners received the plaques of appreciation and cash prizes.
This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme “Unity Across Generations: A Strong Family, A Strong Society.” ### (Social Marketing Unit)
