Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli meets DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano Soliman on December 19, 2013 in Tacloban City.

The two leaders visited Region 8 bringing with them hope and help for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

DSWD Secretary Soliman who at that time was with the DSWD Executive Committee namely Under Secretary (U/Sec) Parisha Taradji, U/Sec. Mateo G. Montaño, Assistant Secretary (A/Sec) Vilma B. Cabrera, A/Sec Camilo Gudmalin and Mr. Roy Calfoforo DSWD Focal Person of programs and partnership with NGOs and some lady legislators visited DSWD Relief Operation Center in Tacloban City.

While DSWD Regional Director Brigoli, together with some Pantawid Pamilya staff, accompanied the 20 members of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from Caraga who volunteered locate, identify and validate Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries from among the displaced households in Region 8.

DSWD Field Office Caraga was the first to have partner CSOs who volunteered to assist in Region 8.

The Office has been assisting Region 8 since Typhoon Yolanda devastated the region in November 2013 leaving thousands of families homeless. It had provided family packs to typhoon victims and augmented 150 Pantawid Pamilya staff in the region. ### (Social Marketing Unit)
