Butuan City- Four (4) outstanding staff of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga received awards during the 63rd Anniversary celebration of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on January 16, 2014 held at DSWD Auditorium, Quezon City.

Out of eight (8) nominees from the region, four (4) were included in the top 3 in each category. The four (4) nominees, together with one of their respective family members, were invited to attend the celebration.

Angelita B. Amista, IDD Chief, and Pio V. Japitana, Accountant III, were awarded as Best Division Chief (Technical) and Best Support Staff (Professional) respectively.

Each of them received a plaque of recognition and a cash award in the form of check in the amount of twenty thousand pesos (Php 20,000.00).

Ann M. Manla, GASSD Chief, and Eval B. Makinano, Regional Training Coordinator, also received certificates having been included as finalists for Best Division Chief (Support) and Best Technical Staff (Sub-Professional) respectively.

His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino and Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman spearheaded the distribution of awards.

Other nominees from the region were the following:  Fe T. Saumat (Best Center Head), Vilma U. Bare (Best Social Worker), Ramil M. Taculod (Best Technical Staff -Professional), and Teresa M. Bedaure (Best Support Staff- Sub-Professional).

The above mentioned employees will also be recognized and awarded in the upcoming regional celebration of DSWD’s 63rd Anniversary on February 14, 2014 in Almont Hotel and Inland Resort, Butuan City.

The theme for this year’s celebration is, “DSWD at 63: Kaagapay sa Pagbangon at Bagong Simula”.

Indeed, DSWD Caraga employees soared high in delivering and implementing policies and strategies that contributed to the high performing culture of DSWD in response to the Department’s clienteles and stakeholders demand. ###(Eunice G. Montaos/Social Marketing Unit/DSWD Field Office Caraga).
