Butuan City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through Listahanan shared the database of the poor families to five (5) Local Government Units (LGUs) here in Caraga region on March 5-7, 2014.
Regional Field Coordinator of Listahanan, Therese Margarette C. Babanto and Regional Associate Statistician, Cale Pineda, led the distribution of CDs containing the database to the LGUs namely: Barobo, Surigao del Sur, Buenavista and Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, Sibagat and San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
Social Welfare Assistant (SWA) Plitchie Bantolinao of Barobo, Surigao del Sur, said that “The database is a great help here in our Municipality. This is a very useful tool in cross checking or in validating our data of the beneficiaries who have been provided with our programs and services especially to those Philhealth Card holders.”
Dir. Minda B. Brigoli expressed her sincerest appreciation to the partner LGUs in delivering the same goal, to help the vulnerable and disadvantaged to enjoy a quality of life through the provision of appropriate and responsive Social Welfare Development (SWD) programs and services as effectively and efficiently as possible.
DSWD Sec. Corazon Juliano-Soliman fervently believed the data are accurate and reliable. She is encouraging the Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Academe, National Government Agencies (NGAs) and LGUs to utilize the Listahanan database of the poor families in providing social protection programs and services to the deserving recipients.
