Butuan City – Thirteen (13) National Government Agencies (NGAs) eight (8) of which were represented by their Regional Directors attended the 3rd Regional Director’s meeting recently conducted at Luciana’s Convention, Butuan City.

The Regional Director’s meeting is conducted quarterly. The recent 3rd quarterly Regional Directors’ meeting was attended by DSWD Dir. Minda B. Brigoli, TESDA Dir. Florencio Sunico, NSO Dir. Rosalinda Apura, DOLE Atty. Johnson Cañete, DOST Dir. Dominga Mallonga, DILG Dir. Lilibeth Famacion, NEDA Dir. Mylah Faye Cariñ, DENR Dir. Marites Ocampo, and DOH Assist. Regional Director Dr. Cesar Cassion. Other NGAs such as NCIP, DepEd, DOT, DAR, were represented by their representatives.

The said Regional Directors’ meeting is a convergence effort of different regional government agencies that aims to improve the Pantawid Pamilya households in order to improve the level of their well-being. It is also a venue to address different issues and concerns of the different regional government agencies with regard to the implementation of Pantawid Pamilya as one of the implementers of the program.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of accomplishments of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) whose targets are the set1 Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries in which Atty Johnson Cañete, DOLE Regional Director committed to provide financial assistance to existing SLP associations. It is recalled that DOLE has been a partner of DSWD in poverty reduction programs and other protective services.

Ms. Alma Patron, Regional Program Coordinator of Pantawid Pamilya presented the Social Welfare Indicator (SWI) Results, while Ms. Elsa Montimor, the Regional Program Coordinator of KC-PAMANA also presented the accomplishments of Kalahi-CIDSS based on SWI.

DSWD Director Minda Brigoli said that “this kind of convergence activity is the best way for our beneficiaries to attain self-sufficiency.”
