Caraga –Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program Caraga conducted recently the search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya 2014 all over Region XIII bannering its activity objective to recognize family beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilya who maintains strong family ties, demonstrates positive Filipino values, and have a positive impact in the community where they reside.

Out of the many model families in the region, five (5) of them were given the chance to showcase the difference they have over other model families.

The Pasia family from Tandag, Surigao del Sur; Sayson family from Surigao City, Province of Surigao del Norte; Gakon family from Las Nieves Province from Agusan del Norte; Inso family from Bunawan in the Province of Agusan del Sur; and Tubo family from Basilisa Province of Dinagat Island were selected and screened based on the credentials they’ve presented before the screening committee.

The submitted credentials of the five families passed the Desk Validation (DV) and Field Validation (FV).

For DV, twenty – five percent (25%) was given to the family that maintained strong ties and harmonious relationship and upheld Filipino values despite the challenges that poverty causes brought; twenty percent (20%) was given to the family that practiced and promoted healthy living and took care of the environment; another twenty percent 20% also for a family that actively involved in community activities; twenty percent 20% again to a family who inspired other members of the community and fifteen percent (15%) for a family who strived to improve living condition amidst difficult situation.

In the FV, the chosen representative was judged through the following criteria: twenty – five percent (25%) for Character, twenty – five percent (25%) for Communication, twenty – five percent (25%) for Leadership/participation in community activities and another twenty – five percent (25%) for Insights.

The Tubo family of barangay Basilisa Province of Dinagat Island who exemplified among others was chosen to represent Region XIII in the National Search.

“It was Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program that taught me about significance. My signature matters this time. I am now involved in decision making especially in the Local Poverty Reduction Action Team (LPRAT) whom I play a big role. Also, I am the auditor of our purok and the president of Tag-abaca women’s organization,” Mrs. Virginia Tubo shared.

“My participation and contribution to different government organizations shaped me of what I am now,” Virgie added.

“In my heart I know I am empowered to do things and create change to my family and to the community, kaya ko ang pagbabago dahil gusto ko at may kakayahan na ako,” she proudly said.

The National Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya was launched in 2012 by the National Program Management Office (NPMO) and the National Committee on the Filipino Families.
