SLP Day: Municipal Check Turn over for SLP Captial Seed Fund for the Newly Funded Associations at Prosperidad, Agusan del Norte on December 9, 2014

Caraga– The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) conducts series of check-turn over amounting to 15,830,000.00 php in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur; Cagwait, Cortes, Madrid, Carmen and Cantilan in Surigao del Sur today, on Wednesday and on Thursday, respectively.

DSWD Caraga Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli, CESO III will hand-in the check to the sixty-one (61) newly funded associations with a total of 1,540 beneficiaries.

“This is our direct response to the needs of beneficiaries and partners. We give them financial assistance to sustain and support their economic related activity by recognizing their vital role as program participants,” Brigoli shared.

In San Francisco, an amount of 8, 290,000 php will be given to 19 SEA-K Associations; 1,620,000 php in Madrid with 11 SEA-K Associations; 1,075,000 php in Cortes with 2 SEA-K Associations; 3,030,000 php in Cantilan with 19 SEA-K Associations; 1,530,000 php in Carmen with 10 SEA-K Associations and in Cagwait, a total of 285,000 php will be given to two (2) SEA-K Associations.

The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) is one of the core programs of the DSWD. In Caraga, the SLP continually penetrates every barangay so as to deliver sustainable programs to enable the program participants to manage sustainable micro – enterprises or linking them to locally – available jobs that will enhance their basic social services and improve their standard of living.
