Butuan City– The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga has provided augmentation assistance to some provinces in the region with a total of 4, 475 family food packs amounting to 1,871,982 php.

The province of Agusan del Norte has received 3,700 family food packs with a total amount of 1, 547,784.00 php; Agusan del Sur with 375 family food packs or equivalent to 156, 870.00 php; and the province of Surigao del Sur with 400 family food packs or equivalent to 167,328.00 php.

Based on the consolidated reports of the Quick Response Team (QRT) of the DSWD 13, as of 11 A.M. today, there are 4 cities and 42 municipalities with 211 barangays affected  by Tropical Storm (TS) Seniang with 13,996 families or 59, 880 individuals. Out of the total affected families, 10, 592 are inside evacuation centers or 47, 220 persons. There are already 191 evacuation centers (ECs) in the region, 19 are newly opened, 92 are existing, and 80 are closed.

“Our field workers across the region are always in alert level especially during times of disaster. Our office will continue to monitor and update reports until TS signals will be lifted in our region,” Mita Gupana-Lim, Assistant Regional Director for Operations shared.

Today, the DSWD FO Caraga has a total of 24, 835 available family food packs ready for distribution stocked at Barangay Tiniwisan, Butuan City (###DSWDFOCaraga###).
