Butuan City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga through the Listahanan project has included and prioritized the Indigenous People (IPs) families residing in the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) areas in the region.
The enumerators of the Listahanan project are expected to assess families belonging in the following tribes present in Caraga: Manobo, Mamanwa, Higaonon, Talaandig, Banwaon, and Mandaya.
“Grabe nako ka itom, (I’m so dark skinned) because I’ve experienced the life of an enumerator. Nice ang feeling to sacrifice for others in need. I love what I’m doing for the poor. Soon, I’ll be able to change their lives.” Christopher Abuzo said. He is an enumerator assigned in San Francisco and Rosario, Agusan del Sur.
Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli reiterates that no one should be left behind.
The Listahanan is a national government project implemented by the DSWD. It is an information management system that aims to establish a reliable database of poor families to be prioritized in the delivery of social protection programs and services of the Government. ###
