Butuan City- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga strengthens partnership with external convergence as the agency heads the conduct of the Regional Directors’ Consultation Workshop (RDCW) on the Accelerated and Sustainable Anti-Poverty Program (ASAPP) lead initiatives on July 28, 2015 at Samping Avenue, Butuan City.

The said activity seeks to share and provide updates with partner-agencies on the ASAPP lead initiatives set during the National RDCW and strengthen their commitments as external-convergence-partners in providing the Pantawid Pamilya partner-beneficiaries with an improved well-being specifically on employment, employable skills and income indicators.

DSWD Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli, CESO III expressed her gratitude to the external convergence on their contribution in helping the Pantawid Pamilya partner-beneficiaries improved their level of well-being.

“Our partnership with other regional line agency is a manifestation of our unity in delivering the social services to its intended beneficiaries. Our unified goal is to sustain the delivery of support so we could move the well-being of our partner-beneficiaries from the survival level to subsistence and from the subsistence level of well-being to self-sufficiency,” Brigoli shared.

“DSWD as the lead agency to provide social protection programs and services to our poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged partner-beneficiaries has launched the three strategic goals to fully address the needs of the 183,304 total number of Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries out of the 232, 301 poor households in Caraga Region identified by the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) last 2009,” Brigoli added.

“Through this consultation workshop, we could finalize the commitment and work plan of our partners to the ASAPP model and framework and cite the next steps for the monitoring of the accomplishments and the implementation of commitments,” Brigoli closed.

The said activity was attended by 17 partner-agencies present in the Region. (###DSWDFieldOfficeCaragaSocialMarketingUnit###).
