Butuan City – The celebration for the National Family Week this year starts today until September 25, 2015.
Being the lead of the Regional lnter-Agency Committee on the Filipino Family (RIAC-FF), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Caraga, is spearheading this celebration.
This year’s theme, “Gender Equality and Children’s Rights in Contemporary Families”, purposes to raise awareness and generate support for action to ensure that Filipino families observe gender equality and children’s rights, thus, prevent family violence through fair family law frameworks and different program interventions.
Exciting activities are lined-up this week for the Filipino families. With the RIAC-FF members, there will be displays of National Family Week streamers, radio plugs, Family Fun Walk, Family Fashion Show, and Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.
The RIAC-FF will also conduct a Family Conference for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program partner-beneficiaries.
The National Family Week celebration is observed every 4th week of September pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No.60 dated September 18, 1992. ###(Social Marketing Unit/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
