Pantawid Pamilya partner-beneficiaries and SLP participants flock in the municipal grounds of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur to participate in the event.

Agusan del Sur- A significant amount of Php100,000.00 was provided by the local government unit (LGU) of the municipality of Prosperidad in the province to fund the Pantawid Pamilya and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Day held on September 26, 2015 at the municipal grounds.

Attended by around 5,000 partner-beneficiaries in the locale, the activity aims to celebrate the extraordinary efforts for the improvement of well-being and positive changes in the lives of these people.

The event was conducted with the theme “Pagtambayayong ug panaghiusa alang sa malahutayong programa sa kalambuan ngadto sa katawhan (Cooperation and unity towards sustainable programs for the development of the people)”.

Municipal mayor Albin Magdamit shared that this activity will be celebrated annually in line with the fiesta celebration. According to him, it is the LGU’s way of commending the efforts of the partner-beneficiaries and encouraging them to maintain the kind of motivation.

“The MLGU of Prosperidad agreed to hold this event annually in consonance with the town fiesta,” said Magdamit.

“We are all feeling happy and fulfilled to bring another fun-filled family experience to our partner-beneficiaries and SLP program participants,” says Janine Bautista, SLP – Project Development Officer III based in Prosperidad.

Bautista also shared that it will also be a good venue for the beneficiaries to meet, interact, and learn from one another.

A parade served as the start of the event and followed by an opening program.

The highlight of the opening program is the search for Mr. Papalicious where tatay (father) Pantawid Pamilya partner-beneficiaries showcased their talents.

Also part of the event was the conduct of Kasalan ng Bayan for the 71 Pantawid Pamilya couples.

Fun games, dance, and table setting among the beneficiaries also made the activity more festive and enjoyable.
