Butuan City – Top performing field and regional office workers of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) were awarded during the conduct of the Year-End Performance Review and Evaluation Workshop for 2015 held last January 26, 2016 at Almont Hotel’s Inland Resort, this city.

Bagging the Most Outstanding Area Coordinating Team (ACT) award was the Team from Cagwait, Surigao del Sur, composed of Joielyn Dueñas (Area Coordinator), Jezrel Seneca (Deputy Area Coordinator), Rujiet Tablon (Municipal Financial Analyst), Artemio Menchavez Jr., Charisa Baltazar, and Elgiemae Montero (Community Empowerment Facilitators), who performed best among the 54 ACTs all throughout  the region.

The team was able to deliver the necessary documents and services on time, finishing the different activities and project implementation as scheduled.

Individual performing staff were also given recognition. Best Community Empowerment Facilitator award went to Ronelyn Pino of San Isidro, SDN, Best Municipal Financial Analyst award went to Jonnifer Lopez of San Isidro, SDN, Best Deputy Area Coordinator/Technical Facilitator award  went to Engr. Darry Ontua of Sta. Josefa, ADS, and Best Area Coordinator award went to Joielyn Dueñas of Cagwait, SDS.

Kalahi-CIDSS Regional Program Coordinator Ramil M. Taculod expressed the management’s congratulations to the awardees. “The excellent performance of Kalahi-CIDSS Caraga is due to the quality performance of the field workers immersed in the area/community,” he said. “We also hope that the acknowledgement of top performing workers would inspire other to perform well so that they would also be top performers for 2016,” Taculod added.

Caraga is among the top performing regions all over the country implementing the Community-Driven Development program.

During the activity, Deputy Regional Program Manager Ester Villamor presented the 2015 accomplishment report highlighting the successful implementation of the different Kalahi-CIDSS modalities, namely, National Community-Driven Development Program (NCDDP), Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA), Government of Australia – Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (GOA-DFAT), and the Bottom-Up-Budgeting (BUB).

Kalahi-CIDSS Caraga has been successful in incorporating the different social and environmental safeguards for 2015, giving emphasis on the importance of women in decision making and employment during the sub-project planning and implementation, the inclusion of Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries and women in paid labor, Indigenous Peoples inclusion in decision making and consultation during project proposal and implementation, and the Thematic Environmental Management System to make communities resilient to climate change.

The activity culminated with the presentation of the 1st quarter implementation plan for 2016, presented by Regional Community Development Specialist Elsa Montemor, to ensure the continued success of Kalahi-CIDSS in Caraga. ###(MARKO DAVEY D. REYES/Social Marketing Unit/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
