Butuan City– The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Caraga visited the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, and Dinagat Islands for the 2016 roadshow in Caraga Region scheduled on April 6, 7 and 9, respectively.
The activity targets to identify the key strengths of the program with respect to its responsiveness in poverty reduction measures and develop recommendations and collaborative innovations by establishing an avenue where partner-beneficiaries can air their opinions and share their stories of success before the participants.
In lieu of Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman is Undersecretary for Promotive Programs Camilo Gudmalin who delivered the message of the Secretary before the participants.
In his message, Gudmalin said that Pantawid Pamilya partner-beneficiaries are living testaments of the effectivity of the program.
“Kayo ang susi at mukha ng tunay na pagbabago dahil kayo ang nakakaramdam nito sa pamamagitan ng inyong pagiging benepisyaryo sa Pantawid Pamilya (You are the key and face of genuine change and you have felt it as partner-beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilya),” he underscored.
The undersecretary also lauded the contributions of partner-beneficiaries on the change that happened to them.
“Hindi ninyo maaangkin ang pagbabagong inyong tinatamasa ngayon kung hindi ninyo pinayagan ang inyong mga sarili na magbago. Kayo ang dahilan ng inyong tagumpay. Kami sa ahensya ay nagsilbing tagapagpadaloy lamang ng mga impormasyon upang mahubog ninyo ang inyong talento at mas makita pa ninyo ang inyong natatagong galing (You will not have the change you have today if you did not allow yourselves to change. You are the reasons of your success. We in the Department only served as a channel in molding your talents and hidden potentials),” Gudmalin added.
He also reported on the accomplishments of the Pantawid Pamilya.
“Last 2008, the program had a total of 20,000 Households (HHs) partner-beneficiaries nationwide, while last 2015, National Program Management Office (NPMO) of Pantawid Pamilya reported to have registered up to 4.4 Million HHs partner-beneficiaries nationwide,” he stated.
“Out of this number, we were able to graduate the 1.5 million HHs from poverty. This is brought about by the programs we have in the Department and our partner-agencies redirecting their social services to uplift the economic status of our Pantawid Pamilya partner-beneficiaries,” Gudmalin closed.
Based on the Listahanan 2nd Round of Family Assessment result, out of the 1.5 million HHs identified as non-poor, Caraga has contributed 46, 734 non-poor HHs.
