BUTUAN CITY- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Social Marketing and Planning Units won the contest on Best Display of Statistical Practices Using Infographics during the 27th National Statistics Month (NSM) Celebration.
The award was given during the closing celebration of the said activity led by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services on October 28, 2016 held at Almont Hotel’s Inland Resort this city.
Part of the guidelines of the said contest is to present statistical information of the department from 2014 to the present through Infographics and the display should include excellent renditions of all the necessary elements of statistical information that are highly attractive and compatible with the data presented. The contest is open to all Regional Line Agencies whose offices are located in the city.
While the criteria for judging are the following; content (50%), visual appeal (30%), and mechanics (20%) with a total of 100%.
With this, the department received Certificate of Recognition and a cash prize amounting to Php7,000.00. While the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) won the 2nd and 3rd place respectively. ###(ABEGAIL R.
