Members of Local Committee against Trafficking and Violence against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) posted a hand-shaped paper with their names and signature to the symbolic hand as a sign of their commitment to stop human trafficking.
The posting was done during the last day activity of LCAT-VAWC Summit 2016 on November 18, 2016 at Almont Hotel’s Inland Resort, Butuan City which was participated by the LCAT-VAWC members, Caraga Local Chief Executives (LCEs), National Government Agencies (NGAs), Non-Government Organization (NGOs), and others. The said activity bears the theme “One Humanity, Shared Responsibility”.
Based on 2015 DSWD Report captured through Recovery and Reintegration Program for the Trafficked Persons (RRPTP), there are 2,096 victim-survivors reported from all over 17 regions, of which 63 cases are from Caraga, making it to be the 10th out of the 17 regions nationwide. ###(ABEGAIL R.
