BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Caraga through the Social Marketing Unit will intensify its information drive by launching the “Ikaw ug ang DSWD” radio program on September 15 at Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) DXBC 693.

With 1 hour time slot, aired every Friday at 4:15-5:15 PM, the radio program will feature the various programs and services of DSWD for the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors. It also seeks to highlight the events in the Region that emphasize good practices, success stories, and life-changing testimonies from the partner-beneficiaries.

DSWD program/project focal persons are also expected to be invited as guests to elaborate the different services of each program. The first episode will tackle on Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) or the provision of integrated services such as direct financial and material assistance, referral services, counseling (CISD), immediate rescue and protection, augmentation to disasters, and other services.

Other topics to be included are Kalahi-CIDSS, Social Pension, rights and privileges of solo parents and PWDs, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), Disaster Response, Adoption, Foster Care, Application for MTA Clearance, Laws and Issuances for Child Protection, Supplementary Feeding Program, Human Trafficking and the Anti – Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 (VAWC).

The Department not just hopes to intensify its drive, but it also encourages interaction from the listeners to generate responses, feedback, and comments from them. It also aims to update the general public on the latest activities and status of the program implementation and service delivery of the Department. .###(JOANA RICA P.
