DSWD Field Office Caraga, in line with the national celebration of Adoption Month, recognized and awarded Mr. Cresenciano and Mrs. Emma Concellado the Regional SALAMAT PO for the Best Foster Parents during the agency’s 69th anniversary celebration on February 17, 2020 at Almont Hotels Inland Resort, Butuan City.

Mr. Cresenciano and Mrs. Emma Concellado with Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista and DSWD Field Office Caraga REgional Director Mita Chuchi Gupana-Lim during the awarding ceremony at 69th DSWD Anniversary Celebration last February 17, 2020 at Almont Inland Hotel, Butuan City.

Mr. and Mrs. Concellado raised and nurtured the Esguerra brothers ever since Lorenz, the eldest among the three siblings, was still a newborn baby. The couple was registered as foster parents in DSWD for 5 years up to now but the children were under their custody for almost 17 years already.

According to Emma, their lives changed when they qualified as foster parents to the three boys

Part of the benefits of being foster parents is the provision of subsidy to address the needs of the children. The couple don’t have to worry anymore about the expenses of sending the children to school because of the aid coming from the agency. The couple also ensures that the children grow in the right path, that’s why Emma and Cresenciano already had savings in the bank without depriving the needs of the children. The savings is also intended for their education when they reach college level.

The Concellado couple is one of the may recipients of DSWD’s mapagkalinga at mapagmahal na serbisyo delivered to the poor, marginalized and disadvantaged. The agency encourages everyone to take part in nurturing the children who are lost, neglected, and deprived by love and basic needs through legal adoption and fostering.###
