The RRP-CCAM-DRR is a program of the National Government which aims to strengthen the resiliency of both natural systems and the urban built environment, as well as reinforce the adaptive capacities of vulnerable groups and communities in the country.

It utilizes the Cash for Work (CFW) modality to implement the different projects and activities on climate change adaptation, disaster prevention and preparedness, rehabilitation and climate change mitigation.

The beneficiaries of RRP-CCAM-DRR Cash-for-work rendered ten (10) days community work related to preparedness, mitigation, climate change adaptation including hunger mitigation and food security projects.

Out of the 65 Local Government Units (LGUs) served during the first half of 2020, eight (8) of which are conducting on-going payouts and the rest continue with their implementation. The program serves more than 90,000 Caraganons amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

One beneficiary praised the agency for providing services amid the pandemic. “Salamat DSWD nga walay gipili nga panahon para mualagad sa katawhan bisan naay COVID-19” (Thank you DSWD for providing services to the people amidst the health crisis coronavirus disease 2019),” Bea Mahilum, RRP-CCAM beneficiary from Barobo, Surigao del Norte shared.

Through RRP-CCAM, the agency does not only educate the general public about the effects of Climate Change – on how to mitigate and adapt to it, but also encourages Filipinos to take care of the environment.#
