BUTUAN CITY- The Local Government Units (LGUs) of Caraga Region pledged their commitment to support the upcoming Validation and Finalization Phase of the Listahanan 3 Household Assessment.

The Validation and Finalization Phase will facilitate the confirmation of the results of the household assessment by correcting wrong entries in the household records, inclusion of households not assessed during the Data Collection and Analysis Phase conducted last year, and accommodation of changes from the households based on merit.

This commitment was expressed during the recently concluded Local Verification Committee (LVC) Orientation on Listahanan 3 Validation Phase conducted per cluster by the National Household Targeting Section (NHTS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga.

Part of their commitment is to secure auspicious space for the posting of the initial list of poor households, space for the grievance corner/receiving of complaints, designated LGU staff to assist the Listahanan Area Supervisor, information dissemination through hanging of streamers, radio announcements, security over the person and property of the field personnel during the conduct of re-assessment, and access to available facilities and other resources.

Other than that, the LGU already created a committee composed of the Local Chief Executive, City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, City/Municipal Planning and Development Officer, representatives from two different Civil Society Organization (CSOs), and designated Listahanan Focal Person.  The said committee will resolve grievances received based on the initial list of poor households posted in the barangay, identify and certify households that have not been assessed.

As stipulated on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DSWD and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ably represented by Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista and Secretary Eduardo Año, the B/LGUs will assist the agency in the implementation of the Listahanan 3 household assessment in all phases, this includes the Validation and Finalization.  #Social Marketing Section###
