The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through the Policy and Plans Division (PPD) adopted the Performance Governance System (PGS) in order to track its performance in fulfilling its enabling and implementing roles through establishing a PGS core team last March 8, 2021.
To level-up the quality of service delivery to its constituents, the PGS, a holistic and collaborative framework, aims to translate organizational goals into breakthrough results guided by a set of performance indicators and metrics. The adoption of PGS shall also lead to a more effective implementation of the DSWD SULONG (Strategic Focus Utilized to Leverage Our Nation’s Good Governance) Recovery Plan 2021-2022.
“We have two strategic focus in the Sulong Recovery Plan (SRP). First, we should increase the Local Government Units’ (LGUs) capacity on social protection, and second, improve the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries’ well-being through strengthened social welfare system. In our situation right now, a more responsive system of governance will be required from us,” Aldie May Andoy, PPD chief, said.
Moreover, the SRP will serve as an interim plan and building block for the originally designed strategy, prepare the Field Office to operate in the context of the Mandanas Ruling, and capacitate the organization to transition to the new normal.
The core team is composed of various division and section heads of the FO, headed by OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Administration Ramil M. Taculod.
“The establishment of this team is important in championing the PGS and influencing the strategic direction of our Field Office. We are expected to assist the Office for Strategy Management (OSM) in strategy execution in their respective units and progress tracking of deliverables,” Taculod noted.
The adoption of PGS Pathways, DSWD Strategy Map 2028, and DSWD Governance Scorecard is issued under Administrative Order No. 05 series of 2020, and signed by DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista last March 13, 2020. ###(Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
