To ensure the sustainability of the Risk Resiliency Program- Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation- Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM-DRR) projects, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has conducted a Project Monitoring Activity at Magallanes, Agusan del Norte on Oct 29, 2021.

Spearheaded by the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD), and accompanied by DSWD Assistant Secretary (Asec) Rodolfo Encabo, and the Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Jean Paul S. Parajes, the team visited 9 out of 11 projects in the municipality; 4 Mangrove Reforestations, Urban Gardening, Construction of Drainage Canal Cover, Repair and Rehabilitation of Drainage Canal, Construction of Centralized Material Recovery Facility, and the Indigenous Flood Control/ Sand Bagging.

The team was assisted by the officials of Brgy. Poblacion during the monitoring of the Repair and Rehabilitation of Drainage Canal project.

RRP-CCAM-DRR through its Cash-for-Work (CFW) programs in the area has served 1,100 beneficiaries who willingly participated in the productive support projects, development and collective community or group undertakings, which are related to disaster mitigation, risk reduction or rehabilitation.

The RRP-CCAM-DRR CFW is a program that provides temporary employment and augment household income especially to those who are within the low-income family brackets.
