Lola Gaudencia, centenarian grantee from Libertad, Butuan City.

Amid the challenges in the implementation of the different programs and services of the department amidst the pandemic and the recent disaster that hit the region, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Centenarian Program, ensured the continual release of the cash grants for the seniors who are already a hundred years old and above.

On March 24, 2022, ‘Lola Gaudencia’ was handed over her a centenarian gift, including awards, as one of the seniors reaching 100-year-old in Brgy. Libertad, Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte.

Ramel F. Jamen, DSWD FO Caraga OIC-Regional Director, with utmost respect commended the life of Lola Gaudencia.

“We are here to celebrate the life of Lola Gaudencia as she made an impact in shaping and keeping up the Filipino values.” – Ramel F. Jamen, DSWD Field Office Caraga Regional Director said in his message during the payout.

Aside from the Php100,000 cash grant from DSWD FO Caraga, the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) also handed an additional Php10,000 which was personally given by Dr. Ida Yap-Patron, NCSC Commissioner.

Dr. Ida Yap-Patron, NCSC Commissioner, expressed her foremost pleasure to have witnessed one of the centenarian payouts in Butuan City.

Also present during the payout were DSWD  Protective Services Division Chief, Jessie Catherine B. Aranas, Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program focal Rachel B. Bade, Centenarian focal person Jobert Tapales, Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada represented by City Councilor Ferdinand Nalcot, Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP) representatives, Government Retired Senior Citizens of Butuan City and Agusan Del Norte (GRABCANI) members, and Senior Citizens Association of Butuan City (SCABC) officials.
