DSWD staff proactively took part in the tree planting activity.

As part of the culmination activity for the National Disaster Resilience Month celebration, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Caraga successfully conducted its tree planting activity, at Puting Bato, Cabadbaran, Agusan Del Norte.

 

“Your presence today has made a difference as we are on our way of forming a greener and resilient community here in Caraga. I am glad that you have shared your time with us.” – Jean Paul S. Parajes, Assistant Regional Director for Operations, said in his message.

Participants distributed food packs to the IP-beneficiaries who are part of the food for work implementation in the area. The food-for-work beneficiaries excavated and mowed the land area as part of the preparation for the tree growing activity.

One of the IP-beneficiaries received their food packs in exchange of their 1-day work of excavating and mowing the tree planting area.

The activity was participated by the DSWD Disaster Response Management Division staff spearheaded by Division Chie Melanie Juan, partner agencies; CENRO Tubay, PAG-ASA, PNP, DFA, PIA, DOH, and 29 IB Philippine Army with the presence of the barangay officials.
