The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga capped off the busy month of September with the Information Caravan 2022 held in the municipalities of Tagbina, San Agustin, and Bayabas, Surigao del Sur on September 28 to 30, 2022.
Through coordination with the different local government units, two barangays per municipality were tapped to join the information caravan. A total of 329 residents of the target municipalities participated in the activity which was led by the Social Marketing Section.
The information caravan is an advocacy initiative of the Field Office designed to inform and educate the communities about the different programs and services. Other than this, the activity was also an effort to bring the programs and services of the Department closer to the people.
During the activity, the participants were also given the opportunity to raise their queries and concerns such as the Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens, Sustainable Livelihood Program, Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, National Household Targeting System, Cash for Work, and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
The information drive is an annual activity to heighten the advocacy and promotion efforts of the office. For this year, information caravans have also been conducted in the municipalities of Tubay, Magallanes, Barobo, San Jose, and Butuan City. (Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
