The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga disbursed Php1,000,000 as Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) to 100 residents of Carmen, Surigao del Sur on October 4, 2022.

LAG, implemented by the Sustainable Livelihood Program, is a recovery intervention program under Rebuplic Act No. 11469 or the “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act of 2020” which aims to provide seed capital funds to low-income families in the informal sector whose livelihoods or jobs were affected by the imposition of the community quarantine during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A staff releases Php10,000 as livelihood assistance grant to a beneficiary in Carmen, Surigao del Sur.

In Carmen, each qualified family received Php10,000 to start a new livelihood or re-establish their previous small businesses.

After the release of grants, the beneficiaries will be monitored by the DSWD-SLP and the local government unit to track their progress and ensure that the projects are operational. (Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
