2,364 beneficiaries receive Emergency Shelter Assistance in Basilisa, Province of Dinagat Islands

Odette-affected families with totally damaged houses in Basilisa, Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) receive Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) today, from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office (FO) Caraga.

2,364 beneficiaries from the said municipality are to receive Php10,000 as assistance for their totally damaged houses.

DSWD FO Caraga Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Mr. Jean Paul S. Parajes attended the said payout to state the rationale of the event and highly encouraged beneficiaries to ensure the wellness of their homes.

Representative of the Lone District of Dinagat Islands, Hon. Alan 1 B. Ecleo along with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of the municipality of Basilisa Hon. Ozzy Reuben Ecleo were also present and emphasized their gratitude to DSWD for the assistance given to their constituents.

Schedules for the other municipalities in PDI will follow in the coming weeks.

It is important to note that for those beneficiaries who have received, or who will be receiving Php5,000 assistance from the National Housing Authority, will only receive half of the allotted amount of ESA, which is Php5,000.
