The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga takes one of its best practices in the implementation of one of its programs – Caring for the Carers, to Davao City.
Capacity Building staff from the Field Office, headed by Ms. Anafe Lecciones, together with Mr. Kent James Lapitan, and Ms. Janroselyn Laborada were invited by the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) Mindanao Cluster as part of their 1st Semester meeting to help SFP staff from all over Mindanao to check and reinforce their mental health and well-being through the conduct of a workshop.
The workshop involved sharing experiences, struggles, and wins among participants, and discussed the gravity of mental health problems of society especially in workplaces.
Caring for the Carers is an initiative of Field Office Caraga that goes beyond its efforts in capacitating the Agency’s workforce, ensuring that the backbone of Field Office Caraga are also in the best holistic condition to carry out their functions and responsibilities. This is relative to what the Agency believes in, that mental health is as important as physical health, detrimental to a person’s well-being.
