Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes, represented the DSWD FO Caraga on behalf of Dir. Mari-Flor A. Dollaga.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga joins the Caraga Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) on its first full council meeting for 2023 hosted by the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Caraga, at the Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City.

 

The meeting transpired to discuss relevant updates and concerns about the RDRRMC member-agencies’ disaster operations. The agenda includes: the seasonal weather outlook for Caraga region for the 1st semester of 2023; thematic committees’ significant accomplishments and milestones; and technical updates on health preparedness information and provision of advisory on the hand, foot, and mouth diseases status of the country and the region.

 

DSWD is the vice-chair of the Disaster Response Cluster, thus play an important role in the council meetings. The meeting would provide guidance to the agency in its priorities and thrusts, especially in the implementation of its programs and services.
