Tatay Domingo Cabas, also known as “Sunday” in the island of Hibusong, Barangay Magsaysay, Loreto, Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) is a DSWD Field Office Caraga Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program beneficiary.

He paddles his bangka every day for fishing but on this day, he paddled out to claim his social pension worth Php3,000 for the 1 st semester, or Php500 per month.

He lives in the sitio on an island adjacent, not too far from the main island of Barangay Magsaysay.

“Maayo na gajud ning tabang sa amoa diri ma’am dugang palit bugas. Salamat kaayo sa inyong pag anhi sa amoa (This is indeed a big help to us, Ma’am – this will help in buying rice. Thank you so much for visiting us),” Tatay Sunday said.

The Social Pension Program ensures the delivery of stipends to senior citizen beneficiaries who are from far-flung areas with the seniors’ comfort as one of the top priority.

The Agency is always grateful for the support of the Local Government Units (LGU) through the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDO) in the conduct of such payouts.
