The Sustainable Livelihood Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga held the program’s 2023 Regional Year Starter Planning at Watergate Boutique Hotel, Butuan City from March 1 to 3, 2023.

The 3-day activity primarily aimed to discuss the program’s 2023 thrusts and priorities and devise strategic plans that will lead to more effective and efficient implementation and monitoring in the region.

Sustainable Livelihood Program Regional Program Coordinator Renante G. Abendanio responds to a query from a field staff in one of the discussions during the activity.

This annual activity also serves as a space for the SLP regional and field staff to review the program’s memorandum circular including updates and forms and evaluate last year’s performance to acquire learnings that can be useful for the 2023 implementation.

Aside from covering the updates and plans for 2023, the activity also served as a venue for the staff to learn more about gender roles and gender-based violence. This is to provide the staff with more knowledge about gender and development which they can apply in their work as project development officers.

Partnership Focal Reino D. Alampayan leads one of the discussions on the second day of the activity.

The said activity is an annual event of the program that allows the whole program to prepare and gear up for the year-round implementation. (Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
