The Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (RIACAT-VAWC) Caraga chaired by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) conducted the Sunset Review and Strategic Planning for Calendar Year 2023-2027 last April 13-14, 2023 at Spacebar Beach Resort, Cagwait, Surigao del Sur.

This is an activity to assess the previous 5-year Strategic Plan that concluded in 2022, and also serves as an avenue for the Committee with various focal persons from different government agencies to maintain, enhance, and finalize the committee’s 5-year plan for 2023-2027 that wills to continue to serve and protect the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Protective Services Division Chief Jessie Catherine B. Aranas gives a talk during the Planning Activity.

Advocacy and Prevention, Protection, Recovery and Reintegration, Prosecution and Law Enforcement, and Partnership and Networking are the four Key Result Areas (KRA) of the activity that have been identified and have each been thoroughly reviewed and evaluated to determine their effectiveness and efficiency in preventing the occurrence of trafficking in persons (TIPs) and violence against women and their children (VAWC).

RIACAT-VAWC Committee poses for the 5-Year Strategic Planning for 2023-2027.

RIACAT-VAWC is co-chaired by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
