ALMOST THERE. The Sustainable Livelihood Program of the DSWD Field Office Caraga excels in the implementation of the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) in the region with 122 projects completed and turned over to associations out of its 129 targets.

As of April 14, 2023, the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has already completed and turned over 122 projects funded through SLP’s Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) to different associations in the region.

To date, a total of 94% completion rate has already been attained by the program out of its 129 targets. The Program aims to turn over the remaining seven projects this semester.

Under this project modality, each association is provided with three project cycles. Each project cycle is funded with an amount of PhP300,000. Once a cycle is declared as implemented and operational, the association can proceed to the next cycle. Out of the 129 targets of the Field Office, 88 of these are subject to the third cycle implementation.

FRESH FROM THE OVEN. DSWD Field Office Caraga through the Sustainable Livelihood Program turns over a bakery project in Alegria, Surigao del Norte last March 2023.

Moreover, the associations will be monitored by DSWD together with the local government units to ensure that the projects are operational and participants are provided with proper technical assistance.

PAMANA is a convergence program of the national government that seeks to provide livelihood interventions and infrastructure projects to conflict-afflicted and vulnerable communities in the country. This initiative is mainly managed by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity. (Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga)
